As expected the day was rainy and chilly. We thought about driving some of the nearby roads to see what wildlife we could see but the parking lot was packed and we were worried that we wouldn’t get a spot when we returned. we thought about sitting in the lobby but it was packed with campers from the nearby campground and back country hikers looking for a warm dry place to pass the day.
Since the lodge is a national park property it is open to the public although no sleeping is allowed in the public areas.
The hotel staff kept the fireplace in the lobby going all day and we went back and forth between our room, the lobby when we could find a seat, and the restaurants when it was time to eat.
Tomorrow after and early breakfast we head home.
