5/17/2019 – Yosemite

We flew up from LAX on Friday night after I finished my work day in Santa Monica. We flew to San Jose and rented a car to drive into Yosemite. The drive was about 3.5 hours so we arrived late in the evening and checked into our cabin at the Evergreen Lodge Yosemite. The lodge was off of Rt 120 ( which leads to the park) and we were 7 miles down a partially paved road called Evergreen road. When we arrived we checked into the most adorable cabin. Each building had 2 separate residences in it, and each residence had a king sized bed, a sitting area, a refrigerator, large bathroom, and a little deck with chairs and a little table. The cabins are in the woods but close to the general store, restaurant, tavern and other common areas. There are lots of little playgrounds sprinkled throughout the property. As we find out later the other places to stay like Yosemite lodge are in the middle of the crush of tourists and Evergreen is in a very secluded private area that is calm and quiet. It’s expensive per night but well worth it to have a nice place to come home and relax at. We had a gas fireplace that looked like a wood burning stove that kept the cabin toasty warm. We had to get up early for a tour of the Wonders of Yosemite in the morning so we went right to bed after we arrived.
