Since we had our own car our plan for the day was to retrace some of our steps from yesterday to look for some more wildlife. We headed out towards Lake Minnewanka where we had seen the bear yesterday but only saw some Elk.

We then headed down the Bow Valley Parkway and then the Icefield Parkway. We had a beautiful scenic drive and stopped for pictures at Bow lake because we only drove by that previously, and then had some lunch along the way.

We also stopped one more time at Peyto Lake because we loved it. We had been dropped off by the bus last time at the upper parking lot and it was very close to the lake but this time we had to park in the car lot and we had quite an uphill hike to get to the overlook but it was so pretty that we wanted to see it again.

We weren’t successful in finding any more wildlife but we enjoyed our day.
We had to return the rental car at 6 so we headed back to the hotel to get changed for dinner with a plan to drop the car, take a shuttle into town, do some shopping and have dinner before heading to our hotel to get an early night sleep because we have an early shuttle to Calgary in the morning to catch our flight home.
