We arrived in Anchorage and made our way to the Westmark hotel. The view from our room on the 14th floor is spectacular. Here are some pictures of that. It doesn’t get dark here until 10:30.
We have been traveling for a long time but we did take a short stroll around town before heading for dinner. We saw the visitors center with the grass roof
Some beautiful hanging flower baskets that are all over the downtown area
Then we took a walk along a trail that runs beside the water. The views are spectacular from almost everywhere.
We had a good dinner and now it’s time for bed! We have been up for almost 21 hours and we have an early wake up call for the train ride down to Seward to see the Kenai Fjords national parl. the weather forecast is calling for rain, but the park is really beautiful so we are hoping to at least get some pictures. There are supposed to be loads of wildlife in the park.
