Ko Samui Thailand 5/3/2026

Today we arrived in beautiful Ko Samui Thailand. We anchored offshore and took a tender to the dock where we boarded another ship to take us snorkeling.

We traveled about 45 minutes in very blue beautiful water to a coral reef just off of a small island. Once we arrive to our location, we were given snorkel gear and we were able to snorkel by the coral reef for about an hour. We tried a new underwater camera that we ordered from Amazon before we left and it worked. OK we got some decent pictures.

We were able to snorkel around the coral for about an hour seeing multiple different kinds of really pretty fish. Once everyone had had their fill we boarded the boat again and headed off to a beach where we could just hang out. Use the restroom in order drinks if we wanted to.. the beach was called Bottle Beach and it consisted of a number of waterfront huts that I guess people could rent and then a little bar and a restroom that the boats could pull in and use if they wanted to. It was rustic but served it’s purpose and the huts seemed to be well occupied, each with a hammock on the porch and then an inside that we couldn’t see.

After we finished at bottle beach we re-boarded the boat and headed to a different beach called Ko Phangan with a similar set of huts and a restaurant where we atelunch. They had a buffet with traditional Thai dishes, and mango sticky rice for dessert. We also tried a local Thai beer.

After lunch, our snorkel boat took us back to the tender dock. On our way we saw multiple needle fish, jumping out of the water needle fish are a long, thin fish that can jump long distances across the water. They look like they’re flying. They can go up to 40 MPH.

We took a tender back to the ship after we left the snorkel boat and by the time we get back to the ship, it was almost time for dinner so we dressed and headed down to dinner had a good meal and now ready for bed. Tomorrow is a sea day so we’ll have time to explore the ship and do a few things on board before we get to Singapore the following day.
