Today we decided to take a short 3 mile hike to Hidden Lake Overlook, recommended by Mo our Glacier Guides guide. We had to drive about 2/3rds of the way down going to the sun road to reach the Logan Pass parking area for this trail. That area gets crowded early so we headed out pretty early to make sure that we got a spot. We arrived at 8 AM and found that there were still some spots available. The parking is limited to 3 hours. They have a system where you enter your license plate, get a voucher to put on your dashboard, and the expiration time is printed on the paper. A woman with a clip board was patrolling the parking area making sure that cars were abiding by the time limit. This parking area is used for several trail heads including the highline trail so it’s always crowded.
