Today is Conrad’s Birthday and we are moving from the Glacier Guides Lodge in West Glacier to the Many Glacier hotel in Many Glacier.
We started the morning with an early breakfast and then headed on a route outside of the park that Mo had recommended which would take us through an area of the park called Two Medicine.
We had 2 very short hikes planned.
First we stopped at Running Eagle Nature area to do a short hike to a waterfall.

We were intrigued by the waterfall coming from behind the rocks, and hadn’t seen that in pictures so as we left we noticed this sign and picture that shows that the water doesn’t always come from behind, but in higher water times, it cascades over the upper rocks.

After Running Eagle, we decided to head over to a slightly longer hike to Aster Falls which was also recommended by our Glacier Guides Guide – Mo.
This was a 2.6 mile round trip hike with little elevation but it was pretty.

After Aster falls, Mo had pointed out a bakery on our map that she thought might be worth a stop. She was not wrong. We stopped at a little general store and bakery with the intention of getting some cookies or danish, we ended up having a great lunch. They had hot and cold sandwiches, both of which were great, and we sar outside at their picnic tables. They also had really clean restrooms.

After lunch we continued on to Many Glacier, pulling off at overlooks to take some pictures along the way.

When we arrived our room was ready so we checked in and got our things to the room with the help of a Bell Boy since there were no elevators and they were the only ones allowed to use carts. The view from our room was of Swift current lake and the mountains in the distance.
The parking here is shared by the hotel and day hikers so it was very hard to find a spot but eventually Conrad found one and we got settled in.

There are 2 dinner options at Many Glacier – the Ptarmigan restaurant and the Swiss Lounge which is more informal. Both had very limited menus and pretty similar foods so we chose the lounge which didn’t have a line to get in. We enjoyed the Salad (Shawn) and the Pasta (Conrad) and then went back to the room to enjoy some wine on our balcony overlooking the lake.
